DFMS – Dry Feed Mixing System

Dry feeding mixing system (DFMS) also called in situ soil stabilization system, this type device should be used on wet working condition, such as silt or sludge, swampland, river bed, bog, this type device use dry binder (powder) that always consist of proportional dry cement, lime, ash powder or others accordingly,  equipment can mix them according to the pre-setting proportion, and then feed to excavator mounted mixing head as powder, mixing head mix this powder  with sludge earth, 4~5 Hours later the land will be stabilized.

Selection and proportioning of soil binder (agent) for soft soil and sludge

The key of stabilizing treatment of sludge and soft soil is the choice and proportion of soil binder (agent), different sludge has different characteristics and the purpose of resource utilization. And there are different kinds of pollutants, heavy metals and curing time in sludge, so the requirements for soil binder (agent) are also different. Therefore, the technical scheme for the preparation of sludge binder (agent) is determined according to the specific requirements of the constructor. However, the basic requirements are that the speed of in situ soil stabilization is fast, the compressive strength is large after solidification, and is stable, the effects of internal and surface solidification were consistent, little amount added and low economic cost and so on.

For the selection and ratio of soil binder (agent), you can start with a small scale of soil sampling test, such as 1~10 cubic soil stirred with common soil binder (agent), acceptance check within 3~5 days, after several experiments to determine the optimum type and proportion of soil binder (agent). For the soil stability construction company of rich construction experience and qualifications, can also to do the selection and matching in accordance with their experience, but the premise is to ensure that the quality of in situ stabilization can meet the requirements.

Selection and purchase of devices

After a preliminary investigation of the site, the soil moisture content is determined, for dry soil which moisture content less than 100%, it is recommended to choose WFMS in situ remediation equipment, which is wet feeding mixing system.
For soil which moisture content greater than 100%, such as riverbed, swamp and sludge that is immersed in water, it is recommended to choose DFMS in situ stabilization equipment, which is dry feeding mixing system.

Step.1 Storage tank

Import the materials of soil binder (agent) into the storage tank through the fly ash truck, common raw materials such as cement, lime.

Step.2 Soil binder (agent) mixing station

Stir the raw material of soil binder (agent) fed by the storage tank, after mixing, the soil binder (agent) is fed to the control and feeding system through the pipeline.
Can stir 200~300 kg per minute.
The power of the in situ soil mixing station is 120W and the voltage is 110V~380V (for different voltages in different countries).

Step.3 Control and feeding system

The remaining volume of the storage tank, the stirring speed of the mixing station, the mixing state of the soil binder (agent) and the mixing ratio of the raw material can be monitored and controlled in real time through the LED display and intelligent operation interface.

Step.4 Mixing head and excavator

By the control and feeding system, after the soil binder (agent) is fully mixed, connect to the mixing head on the excavator through the pipeline, constantly rotating in high speed stirring soil while through the hole on the mixing head to in situ soil mixing with binder. A few hours later, the soil solidified and bearing capacity are greatly improved, which lays a solid foundation for subsequent construction.
