In recent years, more and more soil stabilized projects in China have been growing rapidly, and have become the leading technology. Engineering amount from hundreds of cubic meters to several million cubic meters of soil, soil stabilization technology is not only applied in the remediation of contaminated soil, but also has become an important technology for sediment treatment of river pollution. Soil stabilization technology has been applied to heavy metal contaminated soil and sediment, such as Hg, Pb, CD and as, and is applied in the sediments contaminated by PAHs and pesticides. The technology of chemical oxidation and stabilization combined to repair organic polluted river sediment has also been applied. The stabilized soil and sediment are used in landfill disposal, site barrier and used as subgrade material.
At present, most of the soil stabilization projects in China are implemented by stabilizing technology. There are few works on solidification technology, which is in sharp contrast with the technology adopted by the US super fund contaminated sites. Solidification can stabilize and encapsulate pollution at the same time. It has no direct exposure to human body, and the long-term environmental safety is better than stabilization. Stabilization plays a stabilizing role in pollutants. The stabilization effect is influenced by soil properties, pollutant types and external environment. The uncertainty of long-term environmental safety is large. However, due to the stable repair technology, including the selection of stabilizing materials and the mixture of agents and soil, the technology is simple and the solidification time is short. Because of the complex technology, strict process requirements, long maintenance time and great influence on the temperature, the solidification technology has influenced the enthusiasm of the remediation enterprise. In addition, although in situ solidification technology does not require the process of soil excavation, transportation and disposal, it has significant economic advantages, and at the same time, because of the overall solidification block, it is less affected by external environment, and its environmental risk is smaller. However, the soil remediation technology of contaminated sites is still mainly based on heterotopic technology. In situ stabilization treatment is only several cases. The main reason is that in situ solidification will affect the future use of the site, and it is not easy to combine with site development.
